About Cena Restaurant and Bar

Cena is a bistro-style restaurant and bar offering fine food - including a weekly special entrée feature - and a stellar selection of wine, beer, and spirits.

Located in historic downtown Appleton, Wisconsin, Cena Restaurant and Bar features exposed brick walls, wood flooring, and a pressed tin ceiling. The building was designed by famed Wisconsin architect William Waters.

Our kitchen is open Tuesday through Thursday from 5pm to 9pm - Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 10pm.

Appetizers

Cena Cheese Plate Chef's selection of artisan cheeses served with house-made pickles and lavash crackers.

Poutine French fries, house-made sausage and bacon gravy, veal demi glaze, beer-battered cheese curds, and local maple syrup.

Mediterranean Nachos Braised lamb, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onion, tzatziki sauce, feta cheese, and fresh cilantro with fried lavash crisps.

Meatloaf Cupcakes Stuffed with cheese curds, frosted with garlic mashed potatoes, served with veal demi glaze, black pepper and balsamic cherry, and toasted wheat berry sprinkles.

Flatbread Appetizer Chef's choice of fresh ingredients. Pictured... Onion béchamel, andouille, marinated shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and apple smoked cheddar.

Mussels Served in chorizo, garlic, butter, and white wine sauce with cherry tomatoes and cilantro.

House-Made Chicken Liver Pâté Served on crostini with pickled onion, dry-cured Italian sausage, cornichons, peppadews, and old-style mustard.

Cena Salad Locally grown lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomato, red onions, and croutons with our house dressing.

Kale Caesar Bread crumb crusted baby kale with house-made Caesar dressing, cherry tomatoes, and shaved red onion.

Local Organic Beet and Goat Cheese Salad Locally grown organic beets and Spring mix with onion, candied pecans, goat cheese, and citrus vinaigrette.

Pork Osso Bucco A braised pork shank served with balsamic reduction, gorgonzola mashed potatoes, Italian sausage, haricots verts, and gremolata.

Choice Tenderloin With fingerling potatoes, aged white cheddar yankee grits, veal demi glaze, seasonal vegetable, and smoked onion horseradish cream.

Grilled Shrimp Served with bucatini pasta and mild Italian sausage puttanesca sauce.

Penne Pasta With Parmesan, riccota, and fresh mozzarella, vodka sauce, roasted cauliflower, and roasted chicken.

Veal Marsala Strauss Farms free-range veal with house-made marsala sauce, local organic herbed fingerling potatoes, and seasonal vegetables.

Seared Sea Scallops With smoked corn, mozzarella cheese, and pepper risotto, sautéed Brussels sprouts, and beurre blanc.

Portobello Mushroom Piccata Almond-crusted, with lentils, roasted tomato, and goat cheese.

Ricotta Gnocchi With wild mushroom and herb cream sauce, toasted pecans, and fried sage leaves.

Special Feature - Halibut Cheeks Pan-seared halibut cheeks served with fish stock risotto, fennel cream sauce, fresh sorrel leaves, and radish and pepper relish.
